We are all loving our sweet little Phillip so much. Ethan is such a great big brother! So protective already. He told the Dr. not to hurt his baby and kept asking "What are you doing to him next"? Yeah Ethan won't be going to the next appointment when Phillip gets his shots =(
Brett went back to work today after a 2 weeks off. I was lost without him but it's nice to get started on a good routine with my 2 boys during the day.
Life has been crazy busy the last couple of weeks. Crazy in a wonderful way.
Our dreams came true through our Birth mom, who we call our Angel and have been so blessed because of her. She is amazing=)

Ethan had field day today and had a great time. I can't believe school is out already! We will have an awesome summer. It will be nice when we can put the pool up...when the weather is good enough =)
We are going to Wisconsin for 12 days to see family so maybe by then the weather will be good enough...doubt it but thats ok.

We had our family pictures done last week. They were so fun! The photographer was snapping pictures and got us playing around. Brett gave Ethan a "wet wellie" and he captured it all so of course we had to order a set of those pictures.

So my last post said that we were healthy here...SPOKE TOO SOON... didn't last long! Ethan was never 100% but was doing better. Few days later fever came back and was still miserable. So I took him to see his own Dr. for a second opinion.

His Dr. was very concerned and did x-rays even though he couldn't hear anything wrong.
Pneumonia! Brett and I knew something wasn't right with him.
Took his first dose of antibiotics and broke out in a rash! They had me run him back a.s.a.p and sure enough he was having an allergic reaction.

Now a day later he is actually feeling better with NO fever but we do have to monitor his oxygen but for the most part I believe we are on the mend.

Looks like we are going to play a lot of "school" at home to keep him caught up with the class.

It has been one crazy month! I don't even know where to begin...lets see... Well Ethan has been having some belly issues. He has been in a lot of pain and been having a lot of accidents. He has missed a lot of school because I can not let him go and have an "accident" in class. We have been taking him to the Dr. for about 2 to 3 months now. Anyway we were sent to a specialist @ PCMC who thought that he might have a tumor=( That was scary. No Tumor! Thank goodness! But he did have a blockage in his bowels that he would need help with. Off to PCMC to do a body cleanse for the poor little guy. Wish it was that easy, He had anxiety so bad that even after medication to calm him it still took us 4 people to put the tube in his nose and his BP went way up. there was a few times we thought he was going to pass out. So our main focus has been trying to get our little guy feeling better=)

Even though he has been "cleaned out" the Drs. say it will take a couple months for his body to know when he needs to use the bathroom because his bowels have been stretched so much. Poor kid. I wish I could just take the pain and embarrassment away. Not a happy camper=(

Well we finally got updated on all our paperwork for the adoption. YAY!!!! Now we just need to make sure we update all the pictures since it has been at least 2 years. I can now relax for a day or two. Hope everyone is having a great day!!!

We think that kindergarten should not have as much hm wrk. They are only 6 and getting into the hang of things. I really don't blame the poor kid but it has to be done! This is not an announcement just cute. For the last couple of months Ethan has been going into the "future" baby's room before bed and saying goodnight to his "sister" and making funny faces to make her laugh. He is so funny. He gets so upset if I don't check on her...she isn't even real! But to him i guess she so I just play along. He wants the bassinet where we are during the day so she can be with us and not by herself. He will be a great big brother at least until he gets use to it and then who knows.

It has been awhile since my last post because our Internet is down and it's not as convenient to use my moms. Hope everyone is doing good. We have been having "fun" with Ethan's asthma. It seems to effect him more on the weekends. Anyone know why that would be? We have also been real busy planning my Great Aunts b-day party which was Saturday. I will post pics later of the party. We had a great time! Ethan doesn't know if he likes school or not. There are a couple kids that he says is "bullying " him so some days he likes it and other days he hates it! Not much going on with the adoption. We are just enjoying life and wait for our Miracle phone call.

Mixed feelings. I'm glad Ethan's going to school but I miss him. I'm happy he's making new friends but worry about him. Although we have not been chosen to adopt we are still trying to be prepared so when that special day comes we will have all the important things.

People think we are crazy for buying all this before hand but I want to be ready for our baby and be able to spoil him or her with fun things =)

My sweet sis-n-law ( thanks Tina!) gave us a crib a while back and we have sanded and painted it and it looked real cute but I could not for the life of me get the sides to work. So after about 4 months of telling myself I can make it work I decided that I would go get a new crib.

We got the best deal ever!! I love it!

If we have a girl we have the bedding & if it's a boy we just have to change it.

We have been buying diapers now for about a year so we have a closet full.

Today was Ethan 1st day of school. Brett and I took him to school and out for lunch for his "big" day.

This last weekend was crazy! We wanted to go to the cabin for our anniversary but of course I can't leave Ethan behind. The cabin is his favorite place ever. First of all Brett was helping a guy load some pipe onto a trailer and the pipe rolled up his leg bruising and cutting it. Thank goodness he's fine. The pipe was very heavy!! The next day we go fishing at Lily Lake. Fished for about 2 hrs and decided it was time to go since we didn't bring food or drinks. We have never done that before. Anyways we all get in the car and Brett goes to start it and NOTHING! There was no power no nothing! It has never not started the first try. Boy did we fell sick. No food-no water and now no way back to the cabin. Not knowing what was wrong...battery...altrinator...? There were a lot of people there so we asked if anyone had jumper cables. Nobody did so Brett and another kid tried to pop the clutch. Didn't work. Finally we found someone with jumper cables but DIDN'T WORK. I called my brother and he was there within 2 1/2 hrs. It takes about 2 hrs. to just to drive to the cabin. He brought us a battery to see if it would work and as soon as they hooked it up it STARTED! We all left to the cabin and haven't had any problems since. Through all of that we were able to have a good time and enjoy each other and play in the water. We were there for about 8 hrs that day. Everyone there gave us each a bottle of water and some snacks. There are still some great people out there. Ethan had made a few friends throughout the day and had a great time not really knowing what was going on. We feel very blessed and taken care of. I will post the pictures soon.

Merging Memories is what I'm naming my new little hobby or business. Whatever people want to call it. I love to put pictures and music together onto DVDs so I figured I might as well make some money doing something I love to do. Memories or so precious and priceless. I don't understand why some people have to charge so much to put them together. I have seen some that cost $400. That is just not right. I will be having a blog just for Merging Memories so people can see what I do and all that good stuff. I have been doing it for a little over a year for family and friends and excited to do more.

We have been so busy the last little while. Brett got Lasik done. YAY!! No more glasses for him! He has had glasses since he was in kindergarten:( We finally done our concrete on the side and around the to the back of the house! I'm starting to make videos. It's so fun! I have been doing it for a little over a year now but I have a lot of people who would like me to do some for them so I figured I might as well make a business out of it. So what do you do when a construction sign falls on your car and no one wants to pay for the damages? I was driving on Midland last week when a sign fell on my car. Scared me to death! The sign company came to look at the damages and had me talk to someone from their company who gave me a number to another company and they are now giving me the run around. Little do they know I can get a little feisty when things like this happen and they won't be able to get rid of me until SOMEONE pays to fix the Xterra...and it won't be me! This is so wrong! It's not like I ran the sign down! The stupid thing FELL into me. They think the cement truck in front of me clipped it and that's why it fell.

So Ethan has been off the 3RD antibiotic for about a 5 days. He started coughing a tight cough again so he gets to go to the Dr. today to me treated for Asthma...Poor Kid.

What a crazy and strange week. Have you ever had those moments that you feel like your body is just going through the motions of the day?! Well this last week has been like a bad dream. I love life...but when it rains it POURS! I went with my mom to Women's Conference and was unable to get to all the classes we wanted too...very disappointing...But the ones we did get to were so good it made up for the ones we missed. The only one we planned and actually made it to was on Infertility & Adoption. That was worth the trip alone. I missed a cycle...knew I wasn't preg...took a test...saw a very light positive sign...got my hopes up (even though my heart is set on adoption)...took another test ...negative...started! Very up and down emotional roller coaster. The good news of the week is that Brett went to an auction when I was at the Conference and won Lasik Eye surgery! Very Very cheap! I'm so excited for him. He has had glasses since he was 6 years old.

The night we got home we went to my brothers the pick up my mom's dogs. Jozee was so excited to see my mom even though it had only been one night she had a seizure. The next morning Jozee was doing better until early after noon when I got a call from my mom needing me to take her and Jozee to the Emergency Vet. Jozee started turning YELLOW! Her skin, mouth and ears were yellow. Long story short we took her home with some meds and was told if she got worse to take her back in. 7:00 the next morning I got a call from my mom saying that she got worse during the night and she had to put Jozee down:( Anyone who knows my mom knows that Jozee has been her shadow for the last 8 years. It will be awhile before we are all use to her absence. I stayed with my mom last night to keep her company and my brother is with her tonight just to help her with the void she will feel for awhile. My dad Will be home this weekend and will be able to stay a little longer due to the situation Me, my mom and Ethan are going to Arizona next week to spend time with him.

We had so much fun laughing and baking cookies (and it was all done without a food fight!). Ethan really enjoys having friends over(parents are boring). For those who ate the cookies, don't worry, the boys washed their hands real good before the made the cookies.

The Turkey Hunt

The three of us went to Southern Utah to go turkey hunting. It was fun just the 3 of us hanging out together. Ethan was upset with me the first night when he started coughing and I told him that we were not going hunting with Brett in the a.m. due to his cough.

Not a happy camper. But we did go out with him later that day when it was warmer.

Ethan helped Brett call & look for the turkeys. So cute!

On the way home we stopped to take some pictures while in Southern Utah.

I watched our nephews yesterday. We had so much fun. They love our cats and our cats love them. Garfield thinks he's their dad and tries cleans them. The boys just laugh & laugh. Gage is a tough little guy. He would go up to Ethan and tackle him to the ground. Ethan would laugh and get up so he could do it again& again.

His hearing is perfect. I love my Dr. When he was looking at Ethan he had me look to see what he saw and explained to me what was going on inside his little ears. The Dr. cleaned out his ears before testing and everything was great:) Thanks for your support. I was a little worried a bout the little guy.

Well Ethan gets to go to the Dr. for a hearing test in the morning. I pray that he's not as deaf as his mom or have something to be concerned about. The other Dr. found fluid in his ear & my brother was diagnosed around his age with Otisis Media after the Dr. found fluid in his ear and was unable to hear. We will have to see what happens. I know things can be a lot worse so I'm very thankful that it's nothing too serious.

I am so excited to be sanding and painting a crib to get ready for when the time comes:)...No we haven't been chosen yet...but I think I'll be done painting for a long time when I get this finished! Let me tell ya, Ethan has had pneumonia for about a month now. He has been on antibiotics twice and so hopefully he has kicked it...Well I started to feel a little yucky the other day and went to see my Dr. since Ethan had pneumonia I better get checked out. I was told I have a viral thing and to just wait it out. WAIT IT OUT? I don't have time for this. I have a 5 year old who thinks he's Spiderman...Superman...Troy Bolton...you name it. I try to play with Ethan so he's not bored. He doesn't understand that mom needs to rest because he never slowed down the whole time he was sick. I even went out and jumped on the tramp & played basketball with him. It's amazing what we will do for our children. I just feel so bad when he's playing outside by himself. He looks so sad:( He loves to wave at everyone as they drive by. My mom is having him stay the night at her house tomorrow so I can get some rest without feeling guilty:) Thanks Mom!

We took Ethan to the Dr. for his Kindergarten checkup We had no worries going in with the exception of him needing shots!:*( They looked in his ears and did the whole exam thing and tested his hearing...His left ear was so full of wax that they had to flush it to do the hearing test again because he FAILED the the 1st time!! Anyways, they cleaned out his ear...only one failed... and tested it 2 more times & again FAILED! He gets to go see my E.N.T next week to see why he can't hear. I thought that he might have a hearing problem but being his mom I just thought he had selective hearing with me (takes after his dad) With my hearing problems and my older bro. also has a ear disorder...different than mine... the poor kid doesn't stand a chance. But his eyes are 20/20! That was the good news since Brett can't see anything without his glasses.

The other day Brett had to run in to work for a quick second so Ethan and I went with him. Ethan thinks the forklift is so cool. Brett put on the brakes to make sure it couldn't go anywhere and Ethan had fun lifting the forks up and down.

We wanted to make some sugar cookies last night while our niece Evan was over.

Of course they were very excited to make cookies. Yummy Sugar!

I put it together and they had fun rolling out the dough and making crazy shapes & then frosting them.

I was so proud that I had finally made suger cookies that weren't flat and crispy. I even made the frosting. Anyways after they were all done and they looked so cute and good I tasted one and about died!

I put 1/2 TBL instead of 1/2 TEA spoon of salt! Yep Salt!

I think they turned out cute but very nasty! I'll give them to the dogs:)

We went to the Draper Temple yesterday and what a Beautiful building! Ethan was so excited to go into a Temple because he just doesn't understand why he can't go with us when we go. I think it's open for another week or so for tours and I encourage everyone to go.

Turbo Jam?

We went to my brother's house to celebrate his b-day today. My sisters-n-law were talking about Turbo Jam and how fun it is. I have never tred it. I would hurt myself! So the next thing I know all the kids are down stairs doing Turbo Jam. My nephew Braxton who is 13, thought it would be fun to make fun of it. I thought it was pretty funny too but I didn't get the funniest part because I was laughing so hard but here's a glimpse of what went on. Notice my little niece Ryan in the back. Menier's :( For anyone who is interested, I am going to start a support group for those who deal with Menier's Disease. If you or someone you know would like to be apart of the group please let me know. I will have more info. about it on a later date. Girls Camp! Also, I am asking for help with girls camp this year. We need to collect about 30 soda can tabs for every girl. Not sure yet how many girls are going for sure but there should be around 40 girls (including leaders). Since everyone is posting their Valentines day I guess I should do the same. We really didn't do much for each other this year:( OK well, I didn't do anything for Brett this year...We agreed not to do anything for each other...He doesn't listen very well. But he got me a real pretty rose. I had to include the picture too... it just didn't seem right not to. We like to focus more on Ethan so we got him a BIG dog to cuddle with. He LOVES it!! When Brett gave me the rose Ethan ran up to his room and found one of his toys to give me for Valentines Day. Is't it cute?! Kids can be so sweet. Ethan stayed at his G-ma Su Su's at the last minute so Brett and I ordered out for Chineese and had a quiet evening at home.

I have to share my dream I had last night. Have you ever had a dream that felt so real that when you wake up you're confused? Well, I have let me tell ya. As you all know we are waiting for our "MIRACLE" phone call. The agency is doing a lot of changes with the paper work. They are going paperless so Brett and I are working on all of the new things we need. Anyways, we have been putting a lot of time into it so we can have all the new things published for the birth parents so it has been on my mind 24/7. Last night ( in my dream) we were hanging out with some old friends and they had a family member who had just had a baby girl. They were looking for a family who could raise their baby and give her a good life. As the couple was sitting there holding her I let them know that we have been wanting to have another baby and we would be more than happy to adopt their baby girl. They were so excited to know that we would adopt their little girl, they handed her over to me and said congrats on your new baby girl. So we adopted her, Emma Nicole, and as I was getting up with her one night to give her a bottle I woke up from the dream:( Funny thing is for a split second I was actually getting ready to go get her and feed her but then realized it was a dream. Isn't that bizarre. So weird! I felt as though that dream was real and fell in love with our new baby. It makes me get more prepared every day not knowing when we will get the call.

What is it when kids are sick they still have A LOT of energy?! For the past few weeks there has been a cold running through the family. Ethan has been the same Energetic Ethan only with a stuffy nose at night until early Monday morning when he came in our room complaining he couldn't breath and his belly hurt. When I picked him up to help him to the bathroom "to get sick" he felt like he was on fire! The thermometer had to have been broke cuz it said 104.0! I through him in a cool tub and gave him some medicine. First thing in the morning he went to the Dr. It wasn't time for another dose again so I grabbed his medicine on our way to the Dr. so when it was time we would have it. When they took his temp it was 103.7! So I guess our thermometer isn't broken after all. The Dr. gave him some medicine QUICK. He looked real bad that day. Thank Goodness he didn't have to go to the hospital. He has Pneumonia. Poor kid has probably had it for about a week. It was the first time I didn't run him to the Dr. for a cold and look what happens. It's scary when your child is running around and there are no symptoms of anything but a common cold (only at night) and the very next morning your child is having a hard time breathing and is very lethargic with a very high fever. That has to be the worse part about being a parent is when your child is sick and hurting and you can't make it go away. Breaks my heart:( By the way. Does anyone have anything special they use on carpet stains? I'm not very good with getting stains out of the carpet. Thanks!

As most of you all know, Brett likes to joke & tease A LOT! I don't know what to do with that guy. When can you believe him? Never!

Pizza is one of Ethans favorite things ever...we get a small just for him. LOVES pizza!

So Brett went to get pizza for dinner...his night to cook... when Ethan seen him pull into the driveway he ran out to help his dad bring the pizza in & that's when the tears started to flow.

Ethan ran in the house hysterical,tears running down his face as he was trying to tell me something, I couldn't understand what he was saying. For all I knew his dog got hit by a car or something.

Finally I understood "We can't ever have pizza!" , " There's no more pizza in the world!"

That is when I realized Brett was teasing again!

Brett had no idea he had upset Ethan as bad as he did until he seen the stream of tears flowing down his little face.

When Brett walked in & Ethan saw the Pizza he was ready to fight.

Yep, Brett got in trouble and is still in trouble until Ethan & I can come up with a good but "fun" joke.

The sad thing is Ethan is taking right after his dad and can come up with some pretty good "tricks" & "jokes himself.

You are all probably wondering where we have been for the past 2 weeks. Well, I can't tell ya where we have been cuz I'm not quite sure. Life has been very busy. We have a new caseworker who we met last week. She is very sweet. There are a few more things we need to hand in even though we have been approved since we changed from the Ogden agency to the Layton agency. We are so excited to get things ready for when it is time to bring our baby home. We are looking for a crib and trying to pick out a good color for an accent wall. If we keep ourselves busy with tings it makes time go by a little faster. We thought about doing Chocolate for the accent wall and then when we know for sure if it's a girl or boy we can add other colors later. What do you think? I can picture what I want it to look like. I just don't know how to do it. Oh well, it's just paint. It can be fixed if I screw it up.
